Ancien village de p\u00eacheur, il a su pr\u00e9server son village typique. Le nom de la ville vient de l\u2019\u00e9poque du trafic des esclaves, le Br\u00e9sil avait aboli l\u2019esclavage mais au port, il arrivait toujours des caisses de poulets qui dissimulaient les cargaisons humaines, d\u2019o\u00f9 le nom de Port aux Poules (\u00ab Porto de Galinhas \u00bb). Actuellement, c\u2019est une des\u00a0<strong>plages les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres de l\u2019Etat de\u00a0<a
