de mani\u00e8re incontr\u00f4l\u00e9e fin 2019 et d\u00e9but 2020 dans la zone humide du Pantanal au Br\u00e9sil sont de retour. Environ 1,2 million d\u2019hectares ont \u00e9t\u00e9 br\u00fbl\u00e9s jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p><ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><li>Le Pantanal est la plus grande zone humide tropicale du monde et se trouve \u00e0 cheval sur les fronti\u00e8res du Br\u00e9sil, du Paraguay et de la Bolivie \u2013 le Br\u00e9sil se taillant la part du lion.<\/li><li>Le Pantanal br\u00e9silien a vu le nombre d\u2019incendies plus que doubler jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent en 2020, soit une augmentation de quelque 200 % par rapport \u00e0 la m\u00eame p\u00e9riode en 2019. Selon certaines sources, les incendies ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9clench\u00e9s par l\u2019activit\u00e9 humaine \u2013 susceptible de d\u00e9fricher des terres pour l\u2019agriculture \u2013 et sont difficiles \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler en raison du manque d\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la r\u00e9gion et parce que les feux br\u00fblent sous terre, aliment\u00e9s par de la tourbe hautement combustible et exacerb\u00e9s par la s\u00e9cheresse.<\/li><li>Face \u00e0 l\u2019augmentation du nombre d\u2019incendies en juin et juillet, les autorit\u00e9s f\u00e9d\u00e9rales et des \u00c9tats f\u00e9d\u00e9r\u00e9s ont renforc\u00e9 les interdictions de br\u00fbler. En dessous, des flammes engloutissaient les prairies jaunies du parc national du Pantanal Matogrossense, dess\u00e9ch\u00e9es par des semaines de s\u00e9cheresse. Aliment\u00e9 par des rafales de vent, le feu br\u00fblait d\u00e9j\u00e0 depuis plusieurs jours et ne montrait aucun signe de ralentissement. L\u2019incendie, film\u00e9 par les pompiers qui volaient au-dessus le 23 juillet, faisait encore rage la semaine derni\u00e8re, selon deux sources d\u2019information. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, il a consum\u00e9 quelque 40 000 hectares.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Au cours des sept jours entre le 27 juillet et le 3 ao\u00fbt, les satellites de l\u2019agence spatiale am\u00e9ricaine NASA ont enregistr\u00e9 plus de 20 000 alertes d\u2019incendie dans le Pantanal br\u00e9silien. Avec un acc\u00e8s limit\u00e9 \u00e0 la zone, les forces f\u00e9d\u00e9rales et de l\u2019\u00c9tat ont lutt\u00e9 pour arr\u00eater la progression des flammes. Au Br\u00e9sil, il s\u2019\u00e9tend sur les \u00c9tats du Mato Grosso et du Mato Grosso do Sul. Elle abrite une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de plantes et d\u2019animaux, fournissant un habitat \u00e0 des esp\u00e8ces menac\u00e9es d\u2019extinction, comme l\u2019aras hyacinthe (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus). Chaque ann\u00e9e, entre d\u00e9cembre et mars, de fortes pluies inondent la plus grande partie de cette zone, la transformant en un labyrinthe de marais et de ruisseaux.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: FR;\">Mais le Pantanal souffre d\u2019une s\u00e9cheresse prolong\u00e9e qui est synonyme de d\u00e9sastre pour la r\u00e9gion. \u00c0 la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, des incendies ont englouti des centaines de milliers d\u2019hectares dans tout le Pantanal br\u00e9silien.
